Software engineers have extensive knowledge of programming languages, software development and computer operating systems. A software engineer applies the principles of mathematical analysis and computer science to design and develop computer software. By applying engineering principles to every stage of the development process, they can create customized systems for individual customers, from requirement analysis to software process. The software engineer will also begin to fully examine the requirements and work systematically in the development process. There are many types of software that a software engineer can develop, such as operating systems, computer games, middleware, business applications, and network control systems, real-time software, and embedded software. Changes in technology and new areas of expertise are rapidly advancing this profession.
The most important advantage of the software industry is that other sectors need software. In today's global competitive conditions, almost no industry can maintain its position without the support of the software industry. With this feature, the software field is the locomotive of other sectors and acts as a natural lever in the development of the industry as a whole. Being aware of this, developed countries declare the software sector as a strategic sector in their countries and give various incentives for the development of this sector. R&D studies in the field of software both open the way for this sector and enable the spread of innovative applications.
Our department, with its rich staff and laboratory facilities, aims to train Software Engineers who can produce solutions to the complex problems of industry and business world, have high self-confidence, follow innovative technologies continuously, think analytically, are prone to interdisciplinary work and do not compromise on professional ethics.
