The Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) aims to raise awareness of global humanitarian issues through projects centered on the human experience. In this context, the TRT Humanitarian Film Festival provides directors, young filmmakers, university students, and emerging storytellers with an opportunity to express their unique perspectives through cinema.
Now in its seventh year, the festival offers a dynamic platform for students to participate with high-quality, innovative, and inspiring works. Applications can be submitted online via filmfreeway.com/trtworldcitizen until June 10, 2025.
Producers from around the world will be hosted during the festival, where their films will be screened for audiences. Semi-finalists will also have the opportunity to attend workshops conducted by leading industry professionals. During the closing award ceremony, prizes will be presented to the producers of the top three films as well as the winner of the TRT Special Award.
First Prize: $10,000
Second Prize: $7,500
Third Prize: $5,000
The festival seeks to provide a platform for filmmakers who shed light on pressing global humanitarian issues such as war, conflict, women’s rights, migration, climate change, and poverty.
